NDIS Transport Services

Reliable transport that gets you where you need to be — safely and on time.

What are NDIS Transport Services?

Getting from A to B is something most people take for granted. But for many NDIS participants, transport can be one of the biggest barriers to living independently and participating in community life. Without reliable transport, medical appointments get missed, social activities become impossible, and daily errands turn into major challenges.

NDIS transport services provide the solution. At Delta Community Support, we offer reliable, safe transport for NDIS participants across Brisbane, the Gold Coast, and Melbourne. Whether you need a ride to a doctor's appointment, transport to a community activity, or help getting to the shops, our team is here to get you there.

Our transport services can be provided as a standalone support or combined with other services. For example, your support worker might drive you to a community activity and then support you during the activity itself. This means seamless, joined-up support without the hassle of coordinating multiple providers.

Who are Transport Services For?

Our transport services are available to any NDIS participant who has transport funding in their plan or whose transport is included as part of another funded support.

You might benefit from our transport services if you:

  • Cannot drive due to your disability and do not have access to suitable public transport
  • Need reliable transport to regular medical or allied health appointments
  • Want to attend community activities, social outings, or group programs but have no way to get there
  • Need help with everyday errands like grocery shopping, banking, or picking up prescriptions
  • Use a wheelchair or mobility aid and need accessible vehicle options

Transport can also be provided as part of your SIL, in-home support, or community access services. In many cases, the transport component is included within those supports rather than being a separate line item.

What's Included in Our Transport Services

We provide transport for a wide range of purposes. Here are some of the most common reasons participants use our transport services:

Medical Appointments

Transport to and from GP visits, specialist appointments, hospital visits, allied health sessions, and therapy appointments.

Community Activities

Getting to social groups, sporting activities, art classes, community events, and recreational outings.

Social Outings

Visiting friends and family, going to the movies, eating out, attending church, or any social engagement that matters to you.

Daily Errands

Grocery shopping, trips to the bank, post office visits, picking up prescriptions, and other everyday tasks.

Shopping Trips

Regular or one-off shopping trips to supermarkets, shopping centres, or specialty stores.

Education & Employment

Transport to TAFE, training courses, job interviews, work experience placements, or your workplace.

How NDIS Funding Works for Transport

Transport can be funded in several ways under the NDIS, depending on your plan and circumstances:

Core Supports — Transport

Some NDIS plans include a specific transport budget under Core Supports. This is a set amount you can use to pay for transport to and from activities. It may appear as a lump sum in your plan.

Included in Other Supports

Transport is often provided as part of other funded supports. For example, if a support worker drives you to a community activity, the transport component is typically included in the hourly rate for that support. This is common for community access, SIL, and in-home support.

Kilometre Allowance

When a support worker uses their own vehicle to transport you, the NDIS allows a per-kilometre rate to cover fuel and vehicle costs. This is claimed in addition to the support worker's hourly rate.

If you are unsure whether your plan includes transport funding, we can help you check. Our team is experienced in navigating NDIS plans and can advise on the best way to access the transport support you need.
